Miss Mindy and CJ Metzger, also know as the Artist Sisters, will open Pie in the Sky on Friday, September 10th 2010 (7-10 PM) @ WWA Gallery in Culver City.  Their first joint exhibition in nearly three years celebrates a state of mind in which  spontaneity and a gamut of emotions as a welcome alternative to a steady state of seriousness.  The show features new works from both artists as well as  ‘A Pie for a Pie’  a vintage-style black + white film featuring the sisters and a few surprise guests dueling it out via cream filled pies.

WWA gallery will present two distinct fantasy worlds from Rob Corless (left) and Rey Ortega (right)with joint openings on Friday, May 7th 2010 (7-10 PM).  For Offering, Rob Corless  recasts the everyday through his own surreal imagination.  Rey Oretga explores The Land – his fictional creation, from an anthropological perspective focusing on the land, people, and their culture.

Julian Callos. Our Intrepid Explorer Returns, with More Questions Than Ever.

Recent Otis grad Julian Callos will open his Into the Unknown solo this Friday, May 7th 2010 (7-10 PM) in the project room at WWA Gallery in Culver City. Dee Chavez. Idol Painting 2.

Trappings, a nine-person female group show, opening this Friday, January 15th 2010 (7-10 PM) @ WWA gallery explores the concept of entrapment – literal or figurative, psychological or physical.  Curated by the Artist Sisters, CJ Metzger and Miss Mindy, the show features original work by  Lesley Reppeteaux, Jeni Yang, Celene, Dee Chavez (above), Katie Rice, Su Moon, Tina Darling, CJ Metzger and Miss Mindy.

In addition to the original work created for the show, all nine artists will collaborate in a live painting session during the opening reception.  The finished piece will be donated for a future auction to benefit Lunch Bunch – a grassroots charitable effort to provide homemade bag lunches to Skid Row’s homeless.
