Adapta Gallery will exhibit the work of eight British artists for their third curated project, Close Encounters, which opens on Thursday November 12th (6:30 – 8:30 PM) @ Time Out Gallery in Tokyo. The group show will feature an impressive lineup including Best Ever, Cyclops, D*Face, David Bray, Matt Small, Sickboy, Word to Mother and Vesna Parchet.   The opening night will also feature work by several noteworthy special guests including Usugrow, Jeff Soto, Shohei Takasaki, Yoshiki and Nagayama.  Adapta is understandably pumped about the opportunity to showcase standout urban art to a Japanese audience.  The exhibition is a continuation of  the Adapta UK web magazine’s work to brings the best of the UK to Japan.

Chloe Early

StolenSpace Gallery’s summer show opens July 3rd from 6-9 pm and this year is literally filled to the brim with new works from over twenty artists, plus a few new faces as a small taster of exhibitions to come for the rest of this year and next. This show features all new works on canvas, wood & paper as well as 3D work and exclusive new screen print releases from artists such as Chloe Early, Kai and Sunny and Word to Mother. Opening this Thursday July 2nd at FIFTY24SF is “Young Mind, Old Soul” is a solo exhibition by Word to Mother, an illustrator and painter from the U.K.

Inspired by his past and the world around him, Word to Mother transforms one man’s trash into his very own treasure by giving new life to discarded objects. “Young Mind, Old Soul” Young Mind, Old Soul sees Word To Mother’s unique emotive figures existing within a world of carefully selected aged materials and nostalgic items, embodying the artist’s deep affinity with yesteryear. WTM says, “For me, the idea of having a Young Mind and an Old Soul is about retaining the freedom of youth, the creative and unrestricted energy to continue to question things and to educate yourself, whilst living with a respect and understanding of the past.”
