Preview: Kim Rugg & Josh Azzarella at Mark Moore Gallery

New exhibitions of work by Kim Rugg and Josh Azzarella open Saturday, Feb. 13 at Mark Moore Gallery at Bergamot Station, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Rugg (work pictured above) dissects and reassembles newspapers, postage stamps, comic books and cereal boxes in order to render them both conventionally illegible and a confrontation of the idea of meaning and message. Home for Hobo

“Home for Hobo,” a new exhibition of work by Allison Schulnik, starts Saturday, Jan. 9 at Mark Moore Gallery in Bergamot Station. The reception is from 5-7 pm.  The show continues until Feb. 6.  Be sure to stop by for a look!

Since her first solo show at Mark Moore Gallery in 2007, Allison Schulnik has embarked on an unparalleled contemporary tour de force. She has established an acclaimed global reputation with one-person exhibitions in London, Rome and New York City, in addition to her inclusion in over twenty international group shows. Schulnik’s innately prolific tendencies have earned her unique stature amongst both the critical and popular, and now – with ten new staggering paintings and her fifth full-length animated video, “Forest” – she returns to Mark Moore Gallery for her second solo exhibition, “Home for Hobo.”

Seen: Jennifer Nehrbass at Mark Moore Gallery


“Weep and Wonder,” an excellent show of new paintings by Jennifer Nehrbass, opened Saturday at the Mark Moore Gallery  in Bergamot Station. According to the gallery press release, “Each canvas provides the female protagonist with a space in which to embrace a singular selfish moment, free from preconceived notions of stylized beauty.” The artist’s technical brilliance effortlessly brings each moment to life.

Be sure to check out the show before it ends on August 15. The accompanying show of work by Todd Hebert is also well worth your time.
