Into the Mystic opening this Friday, November 13th (7-10 PM) @ Gallery 1988 San Francisco presents the work of four talented young painters on the rise — Jonathan Bergeron, Jason Limon, Jeremiah Ketner and Ken Keirns.  Ketner and Kerins focus on the beauty of the female form albeit with distinct styles.  Bergeron and Limon focus on more eclectic and fantastic subjects with highly-rendered approaches. The Dirty Show showcasing a wide range of erotic art hits Los Angeles this weekend with a two-day motel take-over show at the City Center Motel in downtown starting on Friday the 13th and running through Saturday the 14th (7-11 PM both nights). While the Dirty Show is an annual tradition in Detroit, we believe this is the first time its made its way to the City of Angels.  The large group show features numerous artists spanning multiple mediums – painting, sculpture, photography and more: Clive Barker, HR Giger, Eric Kroll, Glenn Barr, Colin Christian, Tristan Eaton, Brian Viveros,  Niagara, The Pizz, Ken Keirns and more.

As you might expect given the theme, this is 18+ and over, i.d.’s will be checked. There’s a $10 minimum donation at the door (excess funds will be donated to cancer research) and cameras are not allowed.

Rome continues its growing tradition of showcasing top artists  in the pop contemporary movement with Dorothy Circus Gallery’s opening of their ‘Yes We Can’ group show on Wednesday, May 13th 2009.  The show in the eternal city features the work of Ron English,  Francesco Lo Castro, Kris Lewis, Camile Rose Garcia and Ken Keirns.

In addition to the gallery exhibition, the action will also go outdoors.  Flying Fortress, The London Police and Elio Varuna will present live painting and Tim Biskup will present a performance installation experience.
