Beginning June 9, Beverly Hills’ Lazarides Gallery will host “EuroTrash,” a group show exhibiting the work of European artists JR, Vhils, Conor Harrington, and Anthony Micallef.

Through media ranging from pseudo-sanctified Barbie dolls to masonry, “EuroTrash” confronts concepts of politics and power in contemporary society, expressing a common desire for universal appreciation.

Conor Harrington has another video online of him painting in Covent Garden over the holidays. Babelgum now has two videos of Conor going to work. This painting is reminiscent of his recent Los Angeles show at the now closed Kinsey/Desforges. We hope to see him back in LA soon.

A bit late, but I finally had time to upload my pictures from this weekends show at KDF. Conor Harrington and Chloe Early had an excellent show in LA, well worth seeng if you are in town.

Each artist had 5 large canvases and a pair of charcoal drawings that need to be seen in person to really appreciate. There is tremendous depth and texture to both artists work and you can see the influence they have had on each other. Normally this might not be a good thing, but the strong masculine and feminine qualities of the two artists paintings buffer any concerns about their close relationship influencing the work.

Conor also found the time to paint a mural on the side of the KDF building…take a look up high…

Two of our favorite artists show up in LA this weekend at Kinsey/DesForges in Culver City. Conor Harrington and partner Chloe Early have a two person exhibit that opens Saturday.

The London based pair make their first trip to the West Coast for an exhibit of new work on canvas. Check back shortly and we should have some preview pics!
