Shows: ‘Infinity’ at Scion Gallery

DSC00178

Our friend Andres Guerrero dropped off some images from this weekends show at Scion Space LA. Andres is part of a show being curated by DD fave Andrew Schoultz. After the jump are some great installation and setup images. Check out the show this Saturday.

Andrew’s show is called “Infinity,” and is a group exhibition of artists whose practices or aesthetics relate to the many facets of the infinite. The Vastness of this concept will be explored through painting, drawing, photography, and 3D multi-media installation. The subject matter as well as the medium will vary greatly. Some artists work may be a more literal representation of this subject, suggestive of such things as mathematics, space, time, technology, abstraction, pattern, or repetition, while others have chosen to address the opposite or “finite”, such as fragility, mortality, the temporary, and even doomsday scenarios.

You’re going to be impressed by the ingenuity and creativity of this group for sure.

The show is open from October 10th – November 7th, 2009

Shows: Andrew Schoultz @ Roberts and Tilton

San Francisco-based artist Andrew Schoultz opens his second exhibition at Roberts & Tilton with a series of  chaotic muralistic paintings, but with an ironically subdued and hopeful nature. We really enjoyed Andrew’s work at several galleries in Miami during Art Basel and he recently exhibited at Chelsea Visits Havana, Cuba, and received the 2009 Commission Award from House of Campari. With all of these recent accolades, Schoultz’ show is sure to be a big hit and another big turn-out from all the art lovers in Culver City.
