DTLA x KAWS continued…

Still taking baby steps forward in the displaying of my KAWS collection. Over the last week, a few more pieces have gone up. The pedestals for the giant Companions arrived a couple of days ago…still have to find a suitable place to frame two 6 foot paintings by KAWS…an LA area framer who could transport the pieces from me to them and back would be ideal!!

DTLA x KAWS

Over a couple of weeks into the new spot, finally hung up a couple of KAWS joints in the collection…baby steps…so much more to put up/out…

Apologies for not posting in so long. Since August, I’ve been quite busy with a fulltime position as Interactive Developer at one of Hollywood’s most prominent marketing agencies – BLT & Associates. I had the opportunity to work on our new website, launched last week: http://bltomato.com – props to BLT! Stoked to be here.

KAWS Dissected Companion Arrives Home

Today, the latest sick giant Companion arrived to be united with its 3 other 4 foot brothers. Stoked, I took the opportunity to document the occasion. In the background, I chose to feature some ‘Product Paintings’. Presently, I’m not displaying the full blister pack with printed card rig because it makes them quite a bit larger, around 20 x 25 x 5 inches each. I’m only rocking the canvases with the inner plastic layer of the pack for a while. I’ve found that the elaborate blister packaging itself ages heavily, so I’m storing the rest of the kits for an eventual archival display solution. In the future, I may share more of my substantial collection with the public, perhaps in a gallery setting.

Phil Frost in “Hadiith”

KRUNK, Dubai

Frost: KRUNK, Dubai

The tremendous contribution to “Hadiith” by Phil Frost is nothing less than spectacular. I’ve posted a report on TAC. If you’re in Dubai in the next couple of months, the exhibition shouldn’t be missed. There is some excellent local coverage of the show found here in Time Out: Dubai as well as in 7DAYS.

2009 Fires Up

I’ve been inundated with so many events this year that I’ve neglected to post even my first report here. However, I’m aiming to be more active about expressing my ‘personal’ journal entries on this platform.

First, I’ve been working with The Famous Group since year’s start. I had a great deal to do with Pepsi’s website, Refresh Everything. Custom micro-sites were produced for the Super Bowl and the Grammys. As I develop more interesting projects, I’ll keep us up to date.

Next up for KRUNK is mounting a special show in Dubai.
