Preview: Anthony Clarkson — ‘Masking our Descent’ (2.9)

Thinkspace will present LA artist Anthony Clarkson’s ‘Masking Our Descent’ in their project room on Saturday evening (2.9).  While Clarkson’s work has always engaged the inner child of the viewer with a strong mix of vividly imagined characters both fantastic and adorable, the new body of work seems to reflect a pared down, focused exploration of emotions expressed both dramatically and ironically.  The new paintings will feel familiar to Clarkson’s fans while at the same time ‘different’, perhaps darker and more reflective.  The gallery will also present the ‘In Our Wake’ group show in their front room.
