Seen: Indispensable – Art by the Ounce

On Saturday, the LAgo collective presented Indispensable – Art by the Ounce @ Known Gallery, a fully realized dispensary offering ‘weed’ made of 100% Lego.   LAgo staff raised awareness of recent federal efforts to infringe on the legal right of Californians to use medical marijuana , by writing ‘prescriptions’ for whatever ailed show goers.  The dispensary is stocked with popular varieties of ‘buds’ as well as full-plants cultivated in 100% lego soil.  Humorous and creative, the installation/pop-up  captured the imagination of numerous patients including Portland artist Bwana Spoons, who walked out with a bagged bud and a smile.
