On Sunday we brought you a look at RIME’s work on his mural @ the Branded Arts wall complex in Culver City. With a few final touches, RIME completed the creature morphing sequence piece on Monday. The progression of the at first innocuous creature into a ferocious almost rabid beast who then chills out a bit is extremely well-done with subtle changes from circular ‘frame’ to ‘frame’ from the mouth to the emerging ears. The inclusion of the changing hand poses is a nice touch which adds to the effect. If you look back at the first set of photos we posted, you’ll note the distracting ‘Nissan’ logo which has been there for quite a while. Since it’s quite close to the piece, RIME took inspiration from the iconic Rick James song playing at the time as he transformed the corporate logo into a character-tinged ‘Superfreak 247’ logo. If you find yourself in Culver City, check out the new piece on the South West corner of Washington and National.
