NohJColey & Hellbent in Venice

While traffic can be a bit unkind during ‘rush hour’ (ha ha), I was able to make it to 101 Pacific Ave in Venice on Wednesday  just as NohJColey was about to call it quits (for the day) on his mural of an old man with a flowing beard in a cap.  Much to the joy of the resident, the mural has rescued the front of his apartment from its previous bland, dull existence  and transformed it into a thought-provoking and colorful entrance.  As you can see, Hellbent also remade the front of another resident’s apartment with a striking mural featuring one of his signature pieces– Freud’s jawbone set against a brightly colored field of flowers.  Be sure to check out both artists’ work and that of 37 others with Friday’s opening of ‘Street Art Saved my Life’ @ C.A.V.E. in Venice, presented by Brooklyn Street Art in collaboration with Thinkspace.
