UK artist D*Face will bring his provocative brand of street art to Los Angeles with the opening of ‘Going Nowhere Fast’ at Corey Helford on Saturday April 9th 2011 (7:30 to 10 PM).  While his work generally challenges unquestioned societal assumptions including the importance of consumption and the vibrancy of the American Dream, this show specifically questions celebrity and its trappings including fame and power.  Through paintings, sculpture and installations, D*Face considers iconic figures including Andy Warhol and Michael Jackson. The exhibit will also feature ‘Flutterdies’ – a sculpture series which blends butterflies and insects with spray can caps from the artist’s personal collection.
