Irish painter Chloe Early will present her modern interpretation of Milton’s Paradise Lost with ‘Birdsong and Machine Sounds’ opening on Saturday, October 23rd in the main gallery space @ Corey Helford in Culver City. Through a dozen oil paintings on linen, aluminum and perspex, Early explores the epic story of Adam and Eve intertwined with the inherent beauty of nature and the cold, calculating realities of post industrialization. Rather than make clear judgments, the new work holds utopian and dystopian views together as a means of reflection upon the primal dichotomy between light and dark.
