Brian Viveros. Bleed for Me.

Riverside-based artist Brian Viveros will unleash his army of  fierce, gorgeous and yes dirty women troopers for the opening of ‘The Dirtyland’ on Saturday, October 2nd 2010 (7-10 PM) @ Thinkspace in Culver City.  The new work anchored by fifteen paintings on maple offers a seductive selection of Dirty Troopers spanning multiple time periods and cultures.  Looking to create an immersive experience, Brian has worked with sculptor Gustvo Ponce on the ‘Dirty Trooper’ installation featuring life-size female warriors – the perfect backdrop for the debut of his new short film ‘Tercio de Muerte’ created in collaboration with Eriijk Ressler.

In addition to the original artwork, Thinkspace will offer three limited-edition prints (Mata-Adore You Forever [ed. of 24 s/n, 18” x 24”, $200];  Dirty, Dirty [ed. of 24 s/n, 18” x 24”, $200;] and Wrestle-Her [ed. of 50 s/n, 14” x 18”, $120]  of the new work from 7 PM onward.  While getting to the gallery early on the night of an anticipated print drop (not too mention 3 separate pieces) is always a sound approach, there’s added incentive this time around as  Viveros and Thinkspace will reward the first 200 visitors with a free signed poster. For artwork availability, check out the official digital previews : primary and extras/rarities.  Hit the jump for a look at a few selected preview images, print and free poster images as well as behind-the-scenes prep photos from Sour Harvest.
