Ralph Lauren’s Polo Jeans Co. is showcasing 51 of Europe’s young and influential contemporary artists with their Art Stars project. The canvas for the project ? 3D ‘stars’ built out of wood and covered in premium denim (at least 2 sizes) echoing the company’s ethos. Each artist was asked to turn the blank stars into works of art in their own vision. The project’s strong lineup includes Case, Delta, Herakut, Microbo, Roa, Victor Castillo and many more.. The stars will be shown, a few at a time, in numerous exhibitions in select retail spots throughout Europe. The project will conclude with a large exhibition featuring all 51 stars in London towards the end of the year, at which time the pieces will be auctioned to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust. Definitely check out the Art Stars newly launched site – but be warned, you could easily spend a few hours looking through all the exhibition photos.
