Shows: Walton Ford @ Paul Kasmin (11.12)

0a6c9809In his newest watercolors at Paul Kasmin Gallery, Walton Ford explores the moments of overlap between human society and nature. The large paintings are usually absent of people, and yet human involvement is insinuated. In a January 2009 profile in The New Yorker Ford explained that “Before Fay Wray comes to Skull Island, King Kong isn’t doing anything. There’s no story until she shows up…. What I’m doing, I think, is a sort of cultural history of the way animals live in the human imagination.” Stop by Paul Kasmin to view the works from now until December 23rd. And more images from the show are included after the jump!
