Art theives have struck again, but this time the heist took place in Pebble Beach, CA. 80 million dollars worth of works by artists such as Renoir, Van Gogh, Pollack, Miro and Rembrandt were stolen from the home of business partners Angelo Amadio and Dr. Ralph Kennaugh on September 25. While the pieces were originally valued at 27 million, the number was raised after Amadio and Kennaugh checked their inventory and found 25-30 works total missing, up from an original 13.

The business partners built up their collection when they owned a gallery in Boston earlier in the decade. Unfortunately, most of the pieces were not insured because it would have cost “millions” to do so. Amadio suspects the thieves were professionals who already have buyers for the pieces on the black market. Check out all the details from the ongoing investigation here.
