New York Summer Pt. 1

Rumors abound that LeBasse Projects is going to be putting on a show in NY, so don’t let my recent visit this past weekend change anything. I spent a whirlwind weekend visiting galleries, meeting fun people and dropping in for a few studio visits.

Breezing through Chelsea I stopped to say hi to Michael Foley, who had a very challenging show of photography by Colby Katz. 5 year old Pageant Queens are awfully hard to gaze at for too long…

Foley has a great space, and had some great work on his entry doors from Alexandre Orion.

I dropped in to see Joshua Liner, Last Rites, Jonathan Levine and a few other galleries, maybe ill get some more pics online later. Running back to the Lower East Side I had the pleasure of visiting Alix Sloan, who runs a great program down on Rivington. With two shows up at the moment – Jonathan Viner and a summer group exhibit it was a nice chance to see everything the gallery had going. Alix introduced me to some excellent cupcakes next door to the gallery…which just makes me want to go back.

After my visit to Sloan Fine Art I passed by some great paste ups by Joe Black and Miss Bugs near my hotel…
