Seen: Dr. Sketchy’s LA 000 @ Billy Shire Fine Arts

Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, founded by Molly Crabapple,  offers a relaxed and fun environment for live model sketching.  With an emphasis on Burlesque, Dr. Sketchy’s has grown from the NYC chapter to over 80 chapters around the world.

Baby Tattoo has revived the once dormant LA chapter.  The first session (000) went down last night (5.10) @ Billy Shire Fine arts.  A good number of people came out to sketch alternative model Scar, including several well-known artists including Miss Mindy, Tim Biskup, Michael Hussar, and Shag. Dr. Sketchy’s LA 001 featuring an after party following the sketching will go down on June 21st from 7 to 10 PM @ the Medusa Lounge. Be sure to follow the Dr. Sketchy’s LA blog for all the info on this cool event which will eventually be held twice a month.
